Arrived in to the refit berth this morning from being anchored West of the Lleyn Peninsula and in turn a two days steam from Rotterdam, Deep Helder. The 64 mtr multi purpose survey vessel belonging to DeepOcean was built in 2014 and has facilities to work in many subsea fields while comfortably accomodating up to 50 personnel.

Holyheads first encounter with a Shannon class lifeboat was pictured this morning. Alongside at the marina on an overnight stopover was RNLB Kenneth James Pierpoint, The 13 mtr lifeboat was on route to her new home in Fleetwood after fitting out at Poole in Dorset

Arrived in to the Rio Tinto jetty at 07:45 this morning, Balmoral. The 217 mtr cruise ship belonging to Fred Olsen cruise lines is no stranger to Holyhead having visited many years ago as the Crown Odyssey. The vessel has been named Crown Odyssey twice and also named Norwegian Crown twice, Then on handover in 2007 to her current owners she was then lengthened by 30 metres and is their largest vessel.

A heroic tale from a vessel at the marina today, Pictured this morning alongside at the marina Watson class lifeboat Swn Y Mor. The 46ft former St Davids lifeboat has been in private hands since 1973 and has completed many historic journeys including a circumnavigation of the globe as well as winning numerous awards at traditional sail events. One historic rescue is commemorated onboard with two plaques on either side of the vessel, During November 1956 crewman Ieuan Bateman lost his life on the vessels return after they had rescued all onboard the French trawler Notre Dame de Fatima in distress off Skokholm. Trinity House vessel Patricia pictured this afternoon entering the harbour is a welcome sight not seen for many years. Trinity House had for many years a depot at the marina area and has had many ships in their fleet using the harbour over the years even as far as using the drydock on numerous occasions.

Arrived in to the Rio Tinto jetty at lunchtime today, Hapag Lloyds expedition cruise ship Hanseatic. The 123 mtr vessel, no stranger to Holyhead, headed up the Welsh coast from Avonmouth and after a few passenger excursions is now on route to Greenock after a 18:00 Holyhead departure.

Pictured at the marina in the early morning of the 13th June, F48. The 14 mtr Boskalis Westminster workboat arrived in from Liverpool on a brief stopover on route to Dublin.

Two cruise ships in two days at the port of Holyhead. Firstly on the 10th June alongside at the Rio Tinto jetty, Nautica. One of eight R class cruise ships built, of which four have visited Holyhead. Next arrival, this time at the refit berth National Geographic Orion, This 103 mtr cruise ship is one of a fleet of six expedition cruise ships operated by National Geographic and Lindblad, for most of the time are normaly in far flung corners of the globe.

Another of James Fisher & sons fleet arrived at Holyhead on the 7th June, this time Solway Fisher. The 85 mtr oil products tanker arrived from Antwerp and proceeded to terminal 4 just after 21:00. As the last picture shows she was ready for departure a lot lighter than her arrival after depositing her cargo.

Some pictures of arrivals at the port today. Firstly 90 mtr cruise ship Hebridean Sky, this vessels arrival completes the set of three sisters all now to have visited Holyhead. Next up NSL Enterprise, This 19 mtr windfarm support vessel owned by North Sea logistics is another of their fleet to visit Holyhead and also another Alnmaritec built craft to visit the port.
